Day One
Day one was the highest average scoring day of the weekend, 6/12 scores >30 and players taking advantage of good conditions. Luke turned up claiming a 10 handicap
but started with a triple bogey whilst looking on with concern as both Alex and Simon drain birdie putts on the 1st. Smez, Paul and Dean all put in solid performances
whilst Alex had a round to remember with a Bomo low score equalling 80 collecting 43 points.
Day Two
To the wind and sometimes brutal links conditions of Cromer GC. Quite rightly a UK top 100 course, reminiscent of Purbeck with undulating fairway, gorse surrounded
greens and difficult options off the tees with the wind in play all day. Smez amazed those who had been drinking with himthe night before by compiling a 37 point round of
88 and jumping into the day two lead, ahead of Paul, Marcus and Alex, Dean lurking not too far back in 5th. Average scoring came down to just 25 on the day, the tough
course and conditions proving an eye watering experience for many and relief was in many eyes at the 19th hole.
Day Three
With a field of 12 many players had a chance to be champion, but scoring proved difficult again today. Paul continued to be probably the most consistent performer
at Bomo with a third score in the thirties earning him 3rd place with 95 points. Dean performed even more consistently however, shooting a handicap perfect 88 for 36
points and jumping to a total of 96 and clear 2nd place. First place however was taken with a clear 101 points by the man who travelled from afar, drank latest, slept
less than everyone and still came out on top, the Smez. A lesson in life for the early to bed, early to tee posse! Special mention goes to Tom for competing in all
three days but managing to still score 14 points less than Marcus who only played Friday and Saturday. Here's hoping fatherhood improves your golf!
